The brand has been at home in the city for more than 60 years.
There is no denying that winter is here. And although this is rarely to celebrate, Canada Goose gives the Torontonians a very stylish reason to go outdoors this season. Starting tomorrow, the brand has designed a Toronto-inspired limited edition jacket.
Luxury outerwear has a special relationship with the city, which was founded here over 60 years ago. Today there are still factories here.
The Toronto Jacket ($ 1,495) is available in white for women and in the navy for men (inspired by the Toronto flag). It includes a 3-in-1 design to combat all “unpredictable” elements of the Canadian winter. These include a down outer shell and a removable lightweight down inner shell. The jackets also have a TTC passport pocket for easy commuting, reflective safety details and a rear grab bar printed with the word Toronto.
At the completion of the jacket launch, the brand also offers a gift to purchase for the first time – If you pre-order the jacket today (either online or in the shops of Yorkdale or Sherway Gardens), you will receive a limited-edition PRESTO card and a hood to match your jacket.
Why the brand wanted to design this piece for Toronto, Karuna Scheinfeld, Canada Goose Vice President of Design, said: “Canada Goose is a Canadian brand, but her hometown is Toronto. To this day, Canada Goose is proud to be at home in Toronto and designs, manufactures and sells products in this global hub. Therefore, it was natural for us to create a jacket in homage to our hometown. When we opted for the Toronto Jacket, we first interviewed Dani Reiss, the Torontonian born, our CEO and the third generation of the CG founding family. In our conversation, we identified three main ideas that fueled the design: the weather, the commuting, and the good looks, while we both defy. We’ve built the jacket to work effortlessly in the ever-changing weather in Toronto. Something that is easy to carry in the city, whether by train, bus, car or on foot, and a design that is warm and versatile for the eclectic style and diversity that we experience in Toronto. ”
The introduction of the Toronto jacket follows the brand’s recent collaboration with OVO.
